“Meet the Winemaker” Reception at Spazzo Italian Grill

Spazzo Italian Grill & Wine Bar is excited to host the first in a series of causal wine events designed to showcase the rising stars of the Woodinville wine industry. Please join Darby English of Darby Winery on May 23rd for a night of fine food and wine pairing. Darby Winery produces wines with power and finesse. Darby’s approach to winemaking includes high quality French oak, meticulous work in the cellar, controlled growth and a spotlight on some of Washington’s greatest grapes. Our evening with Darby English will be accompanied with a array of hors d’oeuvres artfully prepared by Spazzo Chef Frank Chullino and his culinary team inspired by the wines that we will be showcasing for the night.

Purple Haze Club Members – Join us as we release the 2011 Purple Haze. Fusion on the Run will be there serving up some fusion inspired tacos that evening, our treat. We will be pouring the new Purple Haze and a few other favorites for you to enjoy. If you pre-ordered Purple Haze, that is your ticket in the door. Otherwise, it is $15 per person refundable with a Purple Haze purchase.

Wine Club Release – Discovery Syrah and Purple Haze

Wine Club Members – Join us as we release the 2011 Discovery Vineyard Syrah and the 2011 Purple Haze. We will have Off the Rez serving up some delicious food. They were named one of the Top 13 Food Trucks in 2012 by Seattle Met. And, as always there will be samples of the release wines and perhaps some future wines or a few older vintage wines for you to enjoy.

Tasting Room and the Warehouse Tasting Room

The 2010 is classic Dark Side! This elegant Syrah comes from the Horse Heaven Hills, Wahluke Slope and Walla Walla Vineyards. Ripe flavors of sweet spice, blackberry, sage and a layer of smoky minerality seem to last forever. Very complex, this Syrah is big but has a velvety texture and will age nicely over the next 5 years. This is one of my favorite Dark Side’s ever produced and is still only $28 with 390 cases produced.
